PID & SERVO CONTROLLER
INTERFACING -
BSPIL-MECLAB-006
Specification :
PID Control Trainer (IBM PC based)
This is a window 95/98 IBM PC based trainer. This is completely self-contained
PID controller. This includes control software, process controller hardware with
power supplies, current and voltmeters, Step input disturbance generator, IBM PC
compatible ADD-ON card, and necessary PID control software to study PID control
actions. This allows the user to vary Kp, Ki, Kd parameters though the Graphical
User Interface (GUI). The real-time PID trend for the SETPOINT, PROCESS VARIABLE
and CONTROL VARIABLE are displayed on the computer console. IBM Computer is not
included in the cost of this instrument. The necessary software is supplied on
the CD, which can be SETUP by following simple SETUP procedure.
Built-in First Order Control System:
This instrument has necessary hardware for performing first Order control
system. The facilities include a variable RC network. Using this network
different time constant can be set. This network also includes a disturbance
generator to create a disturbance and observe the PID response. The magnitude of
the disturbance can be varied using the damper provided.
EXTERNAL PROCESS:
Following hardware is provided to perform PID control on an external process,
using this trainer:
External/ Internal load selector switch: When in 'INT' position, the PID
controller is connected to the built-in first order system. When in 'EXT'
position, the PID controller is connected to the external process.Voltage Input/
Output terminals: When connecting to the external process, the Input/ Output
terminals should be connected to the voltage based process and control variables
respectively. The voltage swing for these I/Os is 0-5V DC
Current Input/ Output terminals: When connecting to the external process, the
Input/ Output terminals should be connected to the voltage based process and
control variables respectively. The current switch for these I/Os is 4-20mA.
