For connecting non-parallel
non-intersecting shafts worm gears may be used. It has quiet
operation, because more teeth are in contact. It can able
to transmit motion to one direction only. i.e., from the
input shaft to the output shaft. Motion cannot be transmitted
from the wheel to the worm. The efficiency is lower than
that of toothed gear drive.
