Heat Transfer Through Lagged
Pipe - BSPIL-HTR-09013
This apparatus consist of a metal cylinder
inside which an electrical heating coil wound uniformly on a silica cylinder is
placed. The metal cylinder is insulated with pipe insulation thermal
conductivity of which is to be determined. The ends are covered with thicker
insulation so that the end losses will be negligible and heat flow in only
radial. The radial temperature distributions within the insulation is measured
by a number of thermocouples placed at equal angular intervals at different
locations
